How I Started with Roses: My German born grandfather moved to the United States by himself when he was 16 years old. He loved roses and maintained a large rose garden which I admired when I was very young. I caught the rose bug from him and started growing roses when I was in high school. Took a break while attending college, getting married and starting a family. After purchasing first home, resumed growing roses and have continued to do so ever since.

Comments: While in college, designed and constructed a 60 ft. long float featuring more than 6,000 fresh rose blooms. Entry won Parade Sweepstakes Award.
Currently grow over 2,000 varieties of roses of all types.
Got hooked on showing roses when I saw a newspaper article publicizing the Butte Rose Society Rose Show in 1995. Entered the Rose Show and won King of Show.
Butte Rose Society American Rose Society Bronze Medal winner.
