Biographical Profile of Carol Burek
Parliamentarian
Local Rose Society Membership: Mount Diablo Rose Society, North Bay Rose Society
Years Growing Roses: 30+
How I Started with Roses: I started over 30 years ago in San Jose with one Oklahoma standard in a wine barrel. After moving to Benicia, Joe and I grew about a dozen roses until we met Larry Olson & Richard Lossing at the Napa Home and Garden Show in 1993. They were staffing an educational booth for North Bay RS. We were "hooked"! From that point we kept planting everywhere, even digging up the front lawn last year. We will be moving to a much smaller home in Pleasanton in 2007 but will be taking many roses in pots with us (mostly miniatures, polys and chinas). Garden space will be at a premium, but will be utilized to the max!
