Jerry Georgette

Biographical Profile of
Jerry Georgette
Roses in Review Coordinator

Local Rose Society Membership: Peninsula Rose Society, San Mateo County Rose Society

Other Society’s & Groups: Founder and lead: Peninsula Planters, a home gardener community through NextDoor. Member local Permaculture interest group. Handyman volunteer with Sequoia Village. Little league umpire and AYSO soccer referee.

Years Growing Roses: 35

How I Started with Roses: My first project was a small rose garden surrounding a lemon tree. The intent was a rainbow of colors. I later became the lead Volunteer for the VA Palo Alto Memorial Rose Garden for 12 years, expanding it to over 300 roses.

Profession: Retired Registered Nurse

Rose Society Offices: Past President, Peninsula Rose Society. Current newsletter editor for the PRS and SMCRS.

Comments: Enjoy photograpy and traveling. During my travels, I always try to seek out the local gardens. In 2015 I went on a tour of public and private rose gardens in Italy. My photographs have won awards during ARS local, district and national exhibits. We recently moved and one of my first projects was to tame a sloped area to build a terraced rose garden. As a Consulting Rosarian, I enjoy conducting home garden visits where I help educate.
